Walkathon

The CCHS Walkathon has raised over $2 million since 2003, funding important initiatives that directly impact the student experience.

The Goal

The Walkathon is Central Catholic’s sole, student-based fundraiser to benefit the school and is supported by the Parents Guild and the Student Council.

The money raised is used to help pay for initiatives that are not covered by tuition, helping to stretch the operating budget and keep tuition down while enhancing the educational experience of students.

The Parents Guild and event sponsors help underwrite the cost of the event so that student-sponsorships can be used to make improvements that directly benefit the students.

Complete renovation of the Raider Café

The Raider Plaza
Raider Field on Auburn Street (turf)
Computer Lab
Furnishings for the Carney Family Chapel
Student fitness center equipment
LCD projectors
Digital language learning lab
Memorial Gymnasium floor
Climbing wall in the Lower Gym
Musical instruments
Darkroom equipment for photography
Parking lot reconstruction & softball field

What will Walk 2023 pay for?

A Peace Garden, Prayer Labyrinth, & Amphitheater

Walk funds will be combined with gifts from generous supporters to transform the space in front of the Hampshire Street Entrance. Rendering is below.

Student Choice: Microwaves

New microwaves will be installed in Baroni Hall.

The CCHS Family Fund

10% of Walk proceeds will go into the CCHS Family Fund, which helps families that have been affected by tragedies throughout the school year.

What is Walk?

A two-mile route around the city of Lawrence on Friday, November 17, 2023.
A spirit building event.
No classes!
A day of fun for students with friends.
Students walk with their homerooms.
Seniors will lead the Walk, followed by Juniors, Sophomores and Freshmen.
